  • As a medical sociologist, Dr. Sionean teaches and conducts research on social determinants of health, broadly defined.
  • Research Interests
  • Professor Sionean’s current research examines individual, interpersonal, and community level processes that underlie racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic disparities in women's sexual and reproductive health. She works collaboratively with other researchers and practitioners to design, implement, and evaluate behavioral and community level interventions to reduce risks for sexually transmitted diseases and other factors that may affect women's reproductive health.
