Students wishing to pursue a graduate degree in Kinesiology with a specialization in neurocognitive kinesiology are encouraged to contact Professor Hillman prior to applying. Such communication will allow for clarification of issues regarding research opportunities, potential for funding, and other issues that the prospective applicant might have questions about. Applications are considered at any time of the year, although funding opportunities may be more limited at certain times.
Students accepted into the graduate program will be given numerous opportunities to be involved in research, teaching, and the writing and presentation of papers. Students completing a doctoral degree will generally have several publications in peer-reviewed journals, have presented numerous papers at national conferences (e.g., American College of Sports Medicine, Society for Psycophysiological Research), and be prepared to continue as an independent investigator.
