Risk Management

In our efforts to maintain the highest standards of safety for our participants, the EPL has developed an extensive risk management program. This program meets the standards set by the University of Illinois Institutional Review Board and follows guidelines set by the American College of Sports Medicine and American Red Cross. The program covers both exercise testing and training, focusing on risk prevention. It also provides specific guidelines to ensure prompt and professional response to emergencies. We list below the considerations deemed important for risk management in the EPL. These protocols have been adopted by all research labs in the Department of Kinesiology.
