Research

The Brain Injury Research Laboratory focuses on mild traumatic brain injury (concussion) associated with sport. We approach our research collaboratively to answer multifaceted questions and provide the most recent information to the general community and to athletes at all levels of play. Working closely with Dr. Kyle Ebersole and the Neuromuscular Research Laboratory team, as well as several research laboratories on and off the University of Illinois campus, our endeavors draw from multiple disciplines to achieve our goals. Together, our aim is to improve athlete safety through prevention, early recognition, and treatment of mild traumatic brain injuries . Our ultimate goal is to reduce the near epidemic occurrence of sport-related concussions.
