Bone and Body Composition Laboratory
Welcome
The Bone and Body Composition Laboratory at the University of Illinois is directed by Dr. Ellen Evans. The focus of research in our laboratory is primarily directed at evaluating the efficacy of exercise to prevent body composition related diseases and the related mechanisms of action in the aged, especially the postmenopausal female.
Being equipped with state-of-the-art technology, the relative accuracy of different body composition assessment methods, especially across conditions of change due to diet and/or exercise and within unique populations such as the obese or aged, is also of basic interest in our laboratory.
This website provides a brief overview of the facilities and research of the Bone and Body Composition Laboratory.
If you have additional questions, please contact Dr. Ellen Evans.
